Ferhat Bouda

Né en 1976 en Kabylie (Algérie), Ferhat Bouda grandit à Bouzeguen (Tizi-Ouzou). En 1994, « la grève du cartable » lancée par le Mouvement Culturel Berbère (MCB) le pousse à s’investir pour la reconnaissance de l’identité berbère. Ferhat Bouda explore alors différentes voies pour la documenter et en partager les spécificités : le théâtre et la musique d’abord, puis le cinéma, qui le conduit à s’installer à France en 2000, et enfin la photographie, qui se révèle être parfaitement adaptée à sa sensibilité et à son engagement, et à laquelle il décide de se former à Paris…

In his native Kabylie, as well as alongside Azawad activits with whom he shares above all the same culture, and even in Germany who he lives, he attaches great importance to people, gazes and attitudes. He endeavours to figure out situations and tries to share with us those complex spheres very hard to grasp or too often hidden by clichés and stereotypes…
